Design Letters
DESIGN LETTERS & Friends is a Danish design company founded in 2009 by former copy writer and journalist Mette Thomsen. Mette felt that modern typography was rarely used in the interiors world - multi-coloured letters for kids' wall decorations seemed to dominate. In response to this, Mette merged her passion for typography and design by establishing DESIGN LETTERS. Mette quit her job at the Danish interior magazine Bolig Magasinet and launched a range of products with a radically different style of monochrome letters.
Later the company's collection expanded to include Arne Jacobsen’s hand-drawn typography from 1937. The rest is a history.
